Extend PS4's DualShock 4 battery life without modding

The one underlining problem with the PlayStation 4's DualShock 4 controller lies in how incredibly short the battery life is when compared to the PlayStation 3's DualShock 3, and up until this point, the only way to get around this shortcoming is to own two (or more) controllers. However, Reddit user scooby609 has fielded an option that is worthy of sincere note, according to Worlds Factory.
Disclaimer: we at PSU would like to warn that the following procedure will most likely void the warranties of the hardware involved.
The process involves opening up a DS4 controller and replacing the 3.65 Volt, 1000 milliAmpere-hour battery can be easily removed and replaced with the DS3 controller's 3.7V, 1800mAH battery. From both controllers, the batteries can be unplugged directly from their respective motherboard sockets and swapped, according to scooby609's Reddit post, "with no modding required."
A DS3 battery can be purchased directly from Amazon for a mere $11, or the option to buy from Amazon third-party sellers fields lower prices. Another option is to take the battery from an extra DS3 controller lying around that may have seen better days.
Until we know more, let us know if you try it and the results of the trial. Apparently, the battery life jumps from 8 hours to around 14 hours.
