'echochrome' update coming June 18

PlayStation Network puzzler echochrome is getting a content update on June 18 that includes a new game mode, weekly recommended levels, a YouTube Uploader, and PlayStation Eye support. The update is for the PlayStation 3 version of the game.

Below is a rundown of the new features.

Cloud:
This new game mode allows players to upload levels they have created, and also download levels that others have posted. A simple search function will allow you to easily find levels.

Our Picks:
For those who don’t want to search through the sea of user-generated content, a weekly update of eight recommended levels will make your life that much easier.

YouTube Uploader/PlayStation Eye support:
The YouTube uploader gives players the option to upload replays to YouTube. Of course, you will need a YouTube account. If you have the PlayStation Eye, you will be able to capture yourself playing the game. The capture will appear as a picture-in-picture image that can also be uploaded to YouTube.

There are some smaller additions including DTS Sound Support, custom soundtrack support, and updated Trophy icons. You can find the game on the PlayStation Store for the PS3 and the PlayStation Portable for $9.99. Again, the update on June 18 is only for the PS3 version.

     Yes! Custom soundtracks is one of the reasons why I couldn't get into the game. It might have a very calm music with violins, but that's deffinitely not my style and I bet many people felt out of place with it.

    The eyetoy feature seems a little pointless IMO but hey at least Ive got something to use my eyetoy on in the meantime :D

    I love this game, I'm glad they are doing this update.  They should play around wtih colors and see if they find something that would work; when I play at night I feel so much white almost blinding.

    Wow, that's pretty good update for Echochrome. The game is still in my list so this will do me good. =)

    Thats a lovely update. Thanks Echochrome team ( Dont remember the teams name)
    Must admit that ive hardly played this since i downloaded it but this might make me finally get involved.

    I have a Playstation Eye and love Echochrome but what is the point of being able to watch myself play in a small square on the screen?

    Damn them. I prefer having physical possession of my games, so find it incredibly rare that I'll ever purchase such content from the PlayStation Store. Why can't they update my PSP version, that seems much more appropriate.
