Devil May Cry 5 reveal set for PSX 2017 – rumor

Devil May Cry 5 is in development and will be announced at PlayStation Experience 2017, according to an industry tipster on Reddit.

Details are thin on the ground at present, though the leak claims that the highly anticipated sequel will feature three playable characters: Dante, Vergil, and Nero. Capcom is supposedly prepping a reveal trailer, though that’s about all we know.

Right now, we advise you to take this with a huge pinch of salt until we hear something official. However, it’s worth noting that the tipster did accurately leaked the latest batch of Injustice 2 content.

Devil May Cry 5 has been rumored for some time now. Last year, the game was tipped to show up at E3 after an actor listed the as-yet unannounced sequel on his resume.

That same year, it was reported that the action-adventure series would be making a comeback with Dante and Nero set to star in the game.

The last major instalment in the series came in the shape of DmC: Devil May Cry back in 2013, which was developed by British studio Ninja Theory.

Capcom would later remaster the game for current-generation consoles alongside 2008’s Devil May Cry 4 back in 2015.

The original Devil May Cry derived from Capcom’s earliest attempts to develop Resident Evil 4, and was released on the PS2 back in 2001.

Despite a lacklustre sequel two years later, the series quickly bounced back with the critically acclaimed Devil May Cry 3: Dante’s Awakening and Devil May Cry 4. The franchise has sold over 10 million copies worldwide to date.
