Kotaku has got the scoop on next year’s entry in the Assassin’s Creed franchise, confirming the stealth-action title will be taking place in the much-requested Victorian London setting during the 19th century.
Assassin’s Creed Victory is in development for PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One, and is targeting a fall 2015 launch, the site reports.
Development of the title is being headed by Ubisoft Quebec, as opposed to the publishing giant’s Montreal studio, who have handled the lion’s share of the Assassin’s Creed franchise up to this point.
At this point, sources close to the project have said that this will be the only main Assassin’s Creed title due next year—don’t expect another double whammy like this year’s Unity and Rogue.
Kotaku were able to catch a glimpse at a video of Victory, which showcased an assassin attempt on a Templar child trafficker named Roderick Bulmer. The mission took the player character to Charing Cross station and on board a moving stagecoach, as well as showcasing a new weapon, the grappling hook.
Ubisoft themselves have confirmed the leak as authentic, and are understandably disappointed that the info has become public knowledge months before the official reveal.
Stay tuned to PSU for more details as we get them.
