Silent Hills could release episodically, reveals Hideo Kojima

Kojima Productions’ upcoming horror reboot Silent Hills may go down the Resident Evil: Revelations 2 route by releasing episodically, studio head Hideo Kojima has revealed.

Speaking at Konami’s showcase event at this year’s Tokyo Game Show, Kojima-san discussed how his development team were looking keenly at how television seasons were scheduled and consumed, and how a similar format may work for that of gaming audiences potentially.

It’s worth noting, however, that the type of release that Silent Hills will see hasn’t confirmed just yet.

Having been revealed not too long ago upon the completion of the interactive P.T. teaser, the Kojima-developed horror title is still a long way from any concrete release so it’s normal for developers to explore different avenues before deciding on the finer details of the game.

With such revered minds as Hideo Kojima and directorial bigwig Guillermo del Toro at the helm, and the likes of The Walking Dead’s Norman Reedus starring, Silent Hills is already shaping up to be something truly special.
