The upcoming Need for Speed title for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One is not a direct follow up to the much-loved Underground series, Electronic Arts has said.
Writing on Twitter, the publishing giant said that the reboot isn’t Need for Speed Underground 3, despite rumors to the contrary prior to the game’s announcement last week.
“It’s not Underground 3 as such, but does share a lot of the stuff that made that game great. This is just #NFS," said the company.
Need for Speed is due out this holiday season, with more information expected to drop at E3 next month in Los Angeles.
