Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End has debuted at number one on the U.K. All Format Chart, giving the action-adventure franchise its most successful launch to date.
Released on May 10 exclusively for PlayStation 4, Uncharted 4’s physical launch week sales were up a massive 66 percent on Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, which hit PS3 back in November 2011.
Despite being released on a single format, Uncharted 4’s sales were enough to fend off competition from Bethesda’s DOOM, which hit PS4, PC and Xbox One during the same week.
The latest instalment in the venerable first-person shooter series sold through 56 percent of all copies on PS4, with Xbox One taking 38 percent and physical PC sales 5 percent. Week one sales were also up 67 percent on DOOM 3.
Elsewhere, last week’s no.1 hit, Battleborn, tumbled out of the Top 10 altogether, landing at 12. See below for the full Top 20 read our Uncharted 4 review while you’re at it.
