The concept of The Tomorrow Children was good. Taking inspiration from Minecraft, the ideal of blending building with social economics in community-focused post-apocalyptic world was highly ambitious, but its execution left a lot to be desired.
Sadly, they’ll be no tomorrow for the children of this revolution as Sony Japan has announced that the servers for the PS4 MMO will be shut down in the region on November 1. It seems likely that other territories will follow, though we’ve yet to receive official word.
Sales of various packs, including the Frontier Pack and Freeman dollars, are being pulled from the store on September 28 and Freeman dollars will become nothing more than fresh air once The Tomorrow Children servers are shut down.
Launching on September 2016, The Tomorrow Children started off as a $20 game but became free-to-play just one month after launch with optional micro-transactions.
As a last ditch attempt to raise some extra cash, Sony Japan have slashed prices in the game by 40 percent. Looks like it’s back to the drawing board for Q-Games and SIE Japan Studio.
