Tekken 7 update 1.05 hits PS4, prepares game for bowling DLC

Bandai Namco Games has released Tekken 7 update 1.05 in preparation of the fighting game’s upcoming bowling DLC.

The update is now available to download and weighs in at around 1.6GB for Sony’s flagship console. In addition to updating the game for its first batch of paid DLC, the patch also applies a number of fixes to online play.

Controversially, the update removes the ability to see an opponent’s name when waiting during matchmaking, which means you won’t be able to avoid people you have played before with notoriously bad connections.

You can now, however, view their ping and disconnection rate, which still comes in handy for avoiding rage quitters.

Quite why Namco has been slowly removing features for online remains a mystery. Initially, it was possible to view not only your opponent’s name, but also their chosen character and rank, allowing you to select a matchup that best suits you.

Tekken 7 DLC 1, which includes Ultimate Tekken Bowl and swimwear costumes, will be available tomorrow for PS4, PC, and Xbox One.
