Destiny 2 just launched a few days ago and it seems it’s already proven to be a massive success for Activision and Bungie even with most reviews for the shared-world experience game being in-progress. Just how successful? Try 1.2 million concurrent players online successful!
This was announced by Bungie’s Twitter account, where it also thanked fans for playing.
Thank you all so much for playing, Guardians! Right now Destiny 2 has over 1.2 Million concurrent players online. We’ll see you in the wild.

If you can’t read the tweet, it says, "Thank you all so much for playing, Guardians! Right now Destiny 2 has over 1.2 Million concurrent players online. We’ll see you in the wild."
Note that this doesn’t just mean 1.2 million players bought Destiny 2, but rather, that’s the Destiny 2 player count that’s playing the game at that moment. There’s a big chance that more players are offline at the time. Add in the fact that Destiny 2 hasn’t even been released on PC (which it will be this coming October), and you can already tell Bungie is making bank.
