Call of Duty Modern Warfare III publisher Activision reportedly sold an AI-generated cosmetic for the military first-person shooter late last year.
That’s according to a report on Wired on the impact of generative AI in video game development, where it is claimed that the mega-publisher “made an AI-generated cosmetic available for purchase on the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 store.”
While the cosmetic isn’t named, it is liked to the Yokai’s Wrath bundle that was released in December last year, although the CoD store doesn’t mention anything about the use of generative AI. The bundle costs 1,500 COD Points, which is the equivalent of around $15 and is the premium currency used for purchase in Call of Duty games.
