Elden Ring movie director Alex Garland worked extra hard to convince Hidetaka Miyazaki to secure his position on the project by cobbling together a 160-page draft, complete with 40 extra pages of imagery before flying to Japan to pitch it to the FromSoftware executive himself.
That’s according to a report by the New Yorker, which states that Garland, who is a self-confessed massive fan of the critically acclaimed fantasy-RPG, got the seal of approval from Miyazaki-san by going that extra mile.

Garland was revealed to be the director behind the Elden Ring movie back in March of this year, with the project set to be produced by Peter Rice and DNA’s Andrew MacDonald. Garland will also be serving as a writer on the film.
Back in April Bandai Namco Entertainment announced that Elden Ring had hit 30 million shipments and digital sales worldwide since its February 2022 release. Elden Ring is a collaboration between FromSoftware and Game of Thrones writer George R.R. Martin, who designed the world and lore.
