Ubisoft’s long-rumoured Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag Remake has been delayed possibly by up to one year, and was originally set to arrive on March 19, 2026.
That’s according to a report on Insider Gaming and follow-up X post by Tom Henderson, which stated that Black Flag Remake is one of the seven titles Ubisoft delayed as part of its recently-announced company shakeup. While not named outright, it is believed that the game is the unannounced title mentioned in the statement below:
In parallel, the Group will allocate additional development time to 7 games inorder to ensure enhanced quality benchmarks are fully met and maximize long-term value creation. This includes the unannounced title initially planned for FY26, that has been delayed to FY27.
Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag Remake has been rumoured for a few years now, and Insider Gaming had previously reported that it was due out by March 31, 2026 – the end of Ubisoft’s current fiscal year, which matches up with the unannounced title above.
Furthermore, European ratings board PEGI posting up a listing for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced back in December, which is believed to be the official title for the remake. Following this, a domain registration for the project was unearthed earlier this month, suggesting a reveal was around the corner.
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced (aka Black Flag Remake) has yet to be officially announced by Ubisoft.
