Battlefield 5’s War in the Pacific brings with it a host of new content. First up, there’s two new Factions in the shape of the U.S. Armed Forces or the Imperial Japanese Army, each one packing their respective military hardware and weaponry. Meanwhile, new maps include Iwo Jima, Pacific Storm, and Wake Island, the latter of which is coming in December.

New weapons are also in the pipeline, including the M1 Garand and three other distinctive World War II-era weapons. These include the Type 99 Ariska for the Recon class, the Japanese SMG Type 100 for the Medic class, and the M19 19A6 for the support class.

As the Tides of War continue, Chapter 5 will bring the M3 Grease Gun, Nambu Type 2A, Type 97 LMG, and M1918 A2, too. Handed out as a Chapter Reward, the Jungle Carbine can be added to your arsenal, too – the same goes for the Type 94 and the Model 27 sidearms. Finally, Tides of War will expand the Assault class’s arsenal with an explosive gadget: the tank-busting Lunge Mine.

Elsewhere, players can scoop up the katana as a Battle Pickup, which means you need to acquire it on the battlefield to use it. Another one is the lethal M2 Flamethrower, which is effective against groups of enemy infantry.

Battlefield 5 was released for PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One in November 2018, and you can read our full verdict on the shooter here.
