Sony Interactive Entertainment has trademarked a new game called Break In less than two weeks ahead of the company’s newly-announced June 2026 State of Play broadcast.
Naturally this has prompted speculation that Break In could be announced at said event on June 2, although there’s no further details available yet. As for what the project actually is, there’s speculation from Insider Gaming that it’s a rebranded Fairgame$, the Heist game from Haven Studios that has reportedly been having a bit of a rough time during playtests.
Obviously we’ll have to just wait and see what Break In actually is, assuming Sony is planning on revealing in early June. We can’t rule out a new IP at this point, but a rebranded Fairgame$ does seem like a strong possibility.
Speaking of Fairgame$, we last hear about heist title in April this year, when Insider Gaming stated that Haven Studios was adding an Extraction Mode known as Cargo Heist to the experience. As mentioned, Fairgame$ has reportedly run into some issues as playtests found that the project was simply “not fun.'”
While a release date hasn’t been announced yet, Jeff Grubb stated last year that Fairgame$ had been pushed to 2026, so we may see it launch later in the year.
