Activision has announced that Call of Duty 2023, which is heavily rumoured to be none other than Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, will be unveiled during a special Call of Duty Warzone in-game event.
This isn’t the first time the publishing giant has used Warzone to announce a new Call of Duty game, so it’s not really surprising to see them following the same strategy for this year’s game.
Drop into Call of Duty: Warzone to experience the worldwide reveal for Call of Duty 2023 in a limited-time event. Join the ranks of Shadow Company to take on Konni forces and secure the chemical weapon threat before it’s too late. Stay tuned to Call of Duty channels for more details about the upcoming reveal.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has yet to be officially announced, but evidence has been mounting that it is indeed this year’s entry in the multi-million selling franchise. Just recently, developer Sledgehammer Games changed its logo to include the Roman numeral for the number 3 to replace the final letter ‘e’ in its title.
Last year there were numerous rumblings that Call of Duty would skip this year in favour of an expansion, although Activision later reaffirmed that it would be a full premium release. Initially it was believed that there would be a new Call of Duty: Black Ops game coming this year, but at this point it’s all but confirmed MW3 is the next game.
The original Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 was released in 2011 for PS3, PC, and Xbox 360, and is the only entry in the original trilogy yet to receive a single-player remaster.
