According to a report on Insider-Gaming, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will have its first free weekend on December 15, just one day after the game’s Season 1 mid-season update.
There’s no details yet available yet on the mid-season update, although it is believed that the Shipment multiplayer map will make a comeback. Likewise, Activision hasn’t announced any details on a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Double XP Weekend.
Meanwhile, the website reports that Call of Duty: Black Ops — Cold War will receive a new update on December 6, 2022, but it’s not yet known if this will add new content or just a bog-standard update.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 was released on October 28, 2022 for PS4, PS5, PC, Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One. The game has already gotten off to a great start, and is reportedly close to surpassing European sales of Call of Duty: Vanguard.
In addition, the game topped the PlayStation Store download charts in the US and EU for October 2022 on PS5. Beyond that, it has been reported that the Call of Duty series will skip a new entry in 2023, but will instead receive a major expansion for Modern Warfare 2.
