Activision call of duty Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 Call of Duty Modern Warfare III Campaign Length MW3 News PS4 PS5

Call Of Duty Modern Warfare III Campaign Can Reportedly Be Finished In 3-4 Hours

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III players who have been playing the military shooter in early access have claimed that the campaign can be finished in just three — four hours, which puts it considerably shorter in length than its predecessor.

For those out of the loop, the Modern Warfare III campaign was made available a full week ahead of general release to fans who preordered the digital edition of the Sledgehammer Games-developed shooter. Since then, reports have filtered in that the campaign is coming up pretty short.

According to HowLongToBeat, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II’s campaign lasted around eight hours, which is roughy in line with previous Call of Duty games, which typically last around six-seven hours.

Multiple folk on Twitter have been expressing their disappointment at the MW3 campaign. James – JGOD revealed that although they tried to take their time with the campaign, it took about three-four hours to finish. Meanwhile, TheGamingRevolution described it as “unbelievably poorly written. No tension. No stakes. All just felt like pointless filler,” and prominent Call of Duty YouTuber Marley13 finished the story in almost exactly four hours.

While Modern Warfare III’s campaign length may come as a disappointment, it does ring true when you consider it was originally reported that this year’s Call of Duty would be a major expansion to MW2. Combine this with reports that its Trophy list is filed under DLC for MW2 itself, it seems that while it may be Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III in name, the game may very well just be a glorified expansion under the hood.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III is slated for release on November 10, 2023 for PS5, PS4, PC, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One. The game’s publisher, Activision, recently explained why the game’s file size is so large compared to the previous games, revealing it’s down to the amount of content available on Day 1.
