Activision has officially announced after months of rumours that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III is indeed this year’s instalment in the long-running FPS series, and will be launching on November 10, 2023.
The teaser trailer was posted up by developer Sledgehammer Games, presumably confirming that they are the team behind the upcoming sequel.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III probably isn’t much of a surprise at this point, seeing as how the game was all but confirmed recently during a DMCA strike. Elsewhere, Activision revealed that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II content would be transferable to this year’s game, suggesting it’s a continuation of that title.
Interestingly, the 2011 version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III is the only game out of the original trilogy that hasn’t been remastered yet. Previously, Activision remastered Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, and despite rumours of a remaster for Modern Warfare III, it’s yet to happen.
