Call Of Duty Warzone Release Times, File Size Revealed

Activision has confirmed the Call of Duty Warzone release times following its reveal of the battle royale mode overnight. As previously reported, Warzone is launching today and will be a free download, but its availability differs depending on a few things, which we’ve detailed below.

Call Of Duty Warzone Release Times & File Size

Call of Duty Warzone will be released for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare owners at 3.00pm GMT today on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One. That’s 8.00am PDT. Everyone else will be able to download Warzone from 7.00pm GMT/12.00pm PDT.

Likewise, the Call of Duty Warzone file size will differ depending on what type of player you are. If you’re a Modern Warfare owner, then it’ll clock in at around 18-20GB. If you don’t, then it’s a going to take more of a chunk out of your hard drive, weighing in at 80-101GB.

Call of Duty Warzone won’t require a subscript to PlayStation Plus, and features two key modes: Battle Royale and Plunder. The former sees you going up against other players in groups of three, with the last surviving teaming bagging victory. In this mode, the closing circle is represented by a deadly gas, which limits your playing field as the match wears on.

Meanwhile, Plunder sees squads on the hunt for precious loot by acquiring it in the game world, killing enemies, or completing contracts. Call of Duty Warzone is set to house 150 players, so it’s going to be a pretty manic affair by the sounds of it.

Here’s the official blurb on Warzone:

Welcome to Warzone – a massive new combat experience where up to 150 players take the role of a veteran Tier 1 Operator and drop in to the dense and sprawling world of Verdansk. Warzone is a game-changer packed with non-stop and endless action that’s free-to-play and free-for-everyone!
