Resident Evil publisher Capcom has revealed that it plans on launching fewer major titles in the current fiscal year, which ends March 31, 2021. With rumors swirling about Resident Evil 8 dropping next year, this puts into question whether the upcoming horror title will be one of those games.
Capcom Plans Fewer Major Games For FY2021
The last financial year saw Monster Hunter World Iceborne as the only major release from the publisher. During this time, it also launched ports of Devil May Cry and Mega Man titles for numerous systems. During the current FY, it plans to launch 13 SKUs as opposed to 35 released during the previous financial year.
Resident Evil 8 has been rumoured to drop in early 2021, which is supposedly going to be released for current and last-generation consoles. It’s safe to say that this can be classed as a major game, although Capcom hasn’t officially announced it yet.
It’s worth noting that Resident Evil 3 remake was released during the current financial year, which takes up three SKUs for PS4, PC, and Xbox One.
Capcom is also reportedly working on a full remake of Resident Evil 4, but that’s not out for a few years yet.
