CD Projekt RED Confirms Geralt Is In The Witcher IV And Doug Cockle’s Voice Was In The Reveal Trailer

The Witcher IV does indeed feature long-time series hero Geralt and Doug Cockle provided his voice in last night’s The Game Awards trailer, CD Projekt RED has confirmed with IGN.

Those of you who have been keeping up with our coverage of The Witcher IV will know that Cockle himself said earlier this year that Geralt was in the game, but recently admitted he got into hot water sharing that info and admitted he wasn’t sure if he would be in the title. However, CDPR has now confirmed that Geralt is in The Witcher IV, but is keeping tight-lipped about his role in the upcoming fantasy-RPG. Here’s the full statement from the developer:

Geralt will appear in the game, but we don’t want to spoil his role precisely. You’ll have to wait to learn more for now.

The studio also revealed during an interview with IGN that choosing Ciri as the main character in The Witcher IV was ‘the super right choice,’ explaining the team is able to dive further into her character given that she’s younger than Geralt.

The Witcher IV entered full production only last month, so the game is still many years away at this point.
