Cyberpunk 2 Creative Director Hints That First-Person Only Cutscenes Are Returning

Igor Sarzynski, Creative Director on Cyberpunk 2 (previously known as Project Orion), has heavily indicated that the first-person cutscenes seen in the original Cyberpunk 2077 will return in the sequel.

Speaking on BlueSky, Sarzynski didn’t outright confirm that first-person cutscenes would be featured in Cyberpunk 2, but implied as much with the mention of “uninterrupted immersion.”

Gotta admit setting up cutscenes in this game would be extremely pleasant (coz everything looks mind-blowingly amazing) but in the end i value our uninterrupted immersion more,” he commented.

Back in May 2025, developer CD Projekt RED confirmed that the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel had entered pre-production, so it’s still a long way off at this point. The developer announced in November last year that Cyberpunk 2077 had reached 35 million copies sold worldwide since its launch in December 2020.

Cyberpunk 2077 was released for PC, PS4, and Xbox One on December 10, 2020 but the console versions were plagued by numerous performance issues and bugs, which took months to fix with various post-launch updates. In total, CDPR spent around $125 million fixing the game alongside developing the game’s expansion, Phantom Liberty.

CDPR has yet to set a release date for Cyberpunk 2, which is hardly a surprise at this early stage in its development. As such, we don’t even know if it will be released for PS5 or PS6 at this point; there’s every chance the game won’t see the light of day for a few years, after all.
