CD Projekt RED has announced that you will have to pay for Cyberpunk 2077‘s upcoming Phantom Liberty expansion.
The news was confirmed to GamesRadar+ by Radek Grabowski, the Global PR Director at CDPR, who commented “as for the expansion’s pricing – we have not revealed exact details yet, but it will be a paid one.” He also added that ”our expansions are traditionally cheaper than full-price games.”
Phantom Liberty is scheduled for release at some point in 2023 for PS5, PC and Xbox Series X/S, and will feature Sasha Grey in the role of newcomer Ash. CDPR has previously confirmed that this will be the only expansion for Cyberpunk 2077.
Looking ahead, CDPR is staffing up for a full-blown Cyberpunk 2077 sequel, which will see the core development team moving to the US to front a new studio.
