Developer CD Projekt RED has announced that the Cyberpunk 2077 release is still on track for a September launch, with the studio now enforcing a work from home policy amid the outbreak of the coronavirus.

Cyberpunk 2077 Release On Track

Writing on Twitter, the company issued the following statement:

Dear all,

Many of you are probably wondering how things are at CD PROJECT RED and how COVID-19 influences our day-to-day operations. Here’s a short update.

Over the past week, we have been adapting to the situation and gradually rolling out preventive measures across our entire organisation. We’ve also been upgrading equipment & infrastructure and working towards enabling our employees to work remotely from the safety of their homes.

Today, as a result of that preparation, CD PROJEKT RED switches to full remote work for as long as it is needed. We think this will grant every team member the highest level of personal health safety. And while this all is a bit new for everyone, we are rising to the challenge and showing no signs of stopping in our effort to bring you some kick-ass role-playing action in September.

Cyberpunk 2077 is due for release on September 17, having been delayed from its original April 16 launch date.

While rumors claimed that the game had been pushed back due to its poor performance on current-gen hardware, CDPR has denied this, saying there’s ‘no hidden agenda‘ behind the delay.

Here’s the full blurb on Cyberpunk 2077:
