Dark Souls 3 announced for PS4, release date early 2016

Bandai Namco Games has announced that Dark Souls 3 is currently in development for PlayStation 4, PC and Xbox One formats.

Dark Souls 3 is being directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki, the creator behind the critically acclaimed Demon’s Souls and Dark Souls, and will be released in early 2016 as previously rumored.

Once again, this latest instalment in the brutal hack-‘n-slash series of games will see gamers traversing a diverse range of interconnected environments, as they battle foes with the series’ trademark use of swords and sorcery-based weaponry.

The DARK SOULS brand became a phenomenon thanks to amazing work from our dear partners FromSoftware and our very own BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment teams," said Herve Hoerdt, Vice President of Marketing & Digital at BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment Europe. “But above all, we are blessed to have such a supportive and loving community, and we are happy to dedicate this final episode to them!
