Dead Island Definitive Collection trailer showcases PS4-powered gore effects

Deep Silver has released a new trailer for the upcoming Dead Island Definitive Collection, showcasing the various improvements made to the zombie titles for current-generation platforms.

The bundle includes high-definition revamps of Dead Island and Dead Island Riptide, which include improved textures and lighting, motion blur effects, anti-aliasing and enhanced game models.

Dead Island Definitive Collection will be released on May 31, with both games also due to see individual releases on PlayStation Network for $19.99 each.

Dead Island was originally released on PS3 and Xbox 360 back in 2011 and picked up middling reviews from critics, with many finding issues with its numerous bugs and glitches. Riptide arrived in 2013, but again was given a roasting for its technical problems that remained unchanged from the original.

A full-fledged sequel is currently in development at Sumo Digital. Check out the Definitive Collection trailer below.
