EA Motive has confirmed that microtransactions will not be included in the upcoming Dead Space remake, which should please fans who weren’t too chuffed to see them turn up in Dead Space 3.
Speaking with IGN, the game’s Senior Producer, Phil Ducharme, commented:
We’re looking at what can be taken and reinjected into the first game from a future standpoint. We’re also learning from mistakes such as microtransactions, which we will not have, for instance, in our game.
Dead Space Remake is currently in development for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S, with a release date yet to be announced. The project a complete overhaul of the 2008’s survival horror classic developed by Visceral Games, and some members of the original team have help consult on the remake.
Set hundreds of years in the future, Dead Space follows Isaac Clarke, an engineer who boards the mining ship UGS Ishimura, only to find it overrun by undead creatures known as necromorphs.
