With Destiny 2 getting new raids, new levels, a new story (or expanded upon), a new changes to existing gameplay mechanics, it seems Bungie is looking out to improve the quality-of-life experience for players as well. One of these QoL changes will be how engrams are decrypted in Destiny 2.
In the first Destiny, whenever players had to decrypt engrams, they had to equip their most powerful armor and weapons so they can be sure that the RNG (random number generator) roll of the engram will give them something better than what they have equipped, or close to it. It wasn’t anything game-breaking, but it was a chore having to do it every time. Well, good news, Guardians! You won’t need to do that in Destiny 2! Over on Twitter, Destiny 2 Project Lead Mark Noseworthy shared that in Destiny 2 engrams won’t be affected by equipping or not equipping your highest level items since it’ll check those things automatically!
PSA: In D2 it’s no longer advantageous to equip your most powerful gear when decrypting Engrams. We check for your best possible loadout now

While not a super big deal, it’s at least something that long-time players will appreciate. Let’s hope Bungie didn’t stop there when thinking of the player experience for the sequel.
Destiny 2 will fire its way out this September 6 on the PlayStaton 4 and Xbox One, with the PC version hitting a month after in October.
