Destiny 2 servers officially go live, but there’s a catch

The Destiny 2 servers have officially been switched on by Bungie today ahead of the game’s official release on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One tomorrow.

Fortunately, this is good news for those of you who were able to get an early copy of the shared-world shooter, but only on disc. If that’s you, then you can jump straight into the action now.

On the other hand, if you’ve pre-ordered a digital copy of Destiny 2, then you’ll have to wait until midnight to get stuck in.

While Destiny 2 will come equipped with staples such as the Nightfall and Strikes on day one, those of you who want to take part in the Raid will have to wait until September 13 to sink your teeth into the six-player challenge.

Destiny 2 will feature the return of The Taken King subclasses, and will also bring back microtransactions via Silver.
