Destiny: weekly Nightfall reset for December 22, 2015

Bungie has flicked the reset switch on Destiny’s game world for another week, ushering in a fresh set of challenges for Guardians just in time for the Christmas break. It’s also worth remember that this is the final week you’ll be able to participate in the Sparrow Racing League, which will shut up shop with next Tuesday’s reset.

First up, the Nightfall this week takes place on the Undying Mind mission, with the modifiers Berserk, Brawler, Match Game, and Trickle. Prison of Elders has been switched up to include Urrox’s Grudge and The Forever Eater for Level 32 and Level 34, while the Court of Oryx Tier 3 boss now takes the form of Balwur. If you’re looking for something else to keep you entertained, then it’s worth remembering that Iron Banner, the tough-as-nails PvP event, will be returning to Destiny on December 29.

Destiny was released in 2014 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360. The game was met with polarizing reviews at launch, although proved a massive commercial success for publisher Activision. The game received two expansions, The Dark Below and House of Wolves, in December 2014 and May 2015, respectively, with Bungie rolling out The Taken King in September this year—the game’s largest expansion to date.

While not selling as well as the base game, The Taken King still proved a big success, and was met with far more positive reviews than the vanilla version of Destiny. The DLC topped the U.K. All Format Charts upon release and sold through the majority of physical copies on the PS4. Recently, Bungie has released a number of event-based additions for its shared-world shooter, including the Sparrow Racing League, which runs for three weeks.

Looking ahead to the future, the former Halo developer has seemingly ruled out the possibility of major expansions, and instead will flesh out the Destiny experience with more events. However, it has said that one major update will arrive by spring 2016, and will be the largest since The Taken King’s release.
