Publishing giant Electronic Arts has revealed new details about its upcoming action title, confirming it’ll incorporate ‘never-before-seen gameplay elements.’
Speaking at the UBS Global Technology Conference this week, Blake Jorgensen, Chief Financial Officer at EA, revealed that the highly anticipated project features "lot of new, interesting gameplay that I don’t think anyone’s seen ever seen before."
Not much is known about the game right now, although it has been confirmed that Jade Raymond is heading the project at EA Motive.
"Action is clearly the place we’re missing the most, and the reason we’re building Anthem and the new title that Jade Raymond’s team at Motive is building in Montreal," added Jorgensen. "That’s the largest sector in gaming. It’s one that we haven’t spent a lot of time in because we were so focused on sports and first-person shooters. We feel like there’s a huge opportunity there."
He went on to say that the project has great potential to succeed thanks to the creative input of over 100 newly-hired staff members. Jorgensen concluded by adding the game has "new ideas that have never been thought of before."
Rounding things off, Jorgensen offered a little tease on BioWare’s Anthem, saying they’ve had a sneak peak at it looks “very exciting.”
EA recently came under heavy fire from gamers for the controversial progression system in the upcoming Star Wars Battlefront 2. As a result, developer DICE opted to reduce the cost of its hero units in the game by 75 percent.
