The serene narrative-adventure Eastshade has been rated for PS4 in Europe, suggesting that the game may be announced for the console soon.
Eastshade is a best described as a relaxing exploration title where you play as a Painter, travelling across the island of Eastshade. You can capture the world on your artist’s easel, learn about the inhabitants of Eastshade and their lives, and help those in need. “Visit cities, scale summits, unearth mysteries, and discover forgotten places!”
The game released on PC earlier this year and everyone raved about how great it was. I am beyond thrilled at the prospect of it coming to PS4 and anyone who likes similar titles, such as Gone Home and What Remains of Edith Finch, should keep an eye out for it. The game is currently sitting at “Very Positive” on Steam with 1000 reviews.
The Metacritic for the game follows that trend with a 78 and 17 positive critic reviews, with multiple scores in the 80’s and 90’s.
The rating doesn’t offer any additional information about the PS4 version beyond the PEGI 7 rating. However, a reveal could be around the corner. Gamescom is a possible place to see the game get revealed if it is picked up by an indie publisher. The PC version of the game wasn’t attached to a publisher. However, after the success it saw on PC, a publisher could have picked the game up.
A list of features about the game gives you a good idea of what to expect:
A peaceful open-world exploration-adventure full of character
Compose paintings anywhere in the world and offer them to the locals to unlock secrets and gain items
Acquire crafting materials and schematics to surmount obstacles and solve quests
Make friends along the way through fully-voiced dynamic conversations and unlockable topics
