Bandai Namco Entertainment has announced that ray-tracing will be coming to the PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X versions of Elden Ring via a future update.
The publisher also confirmed that the game will indeed feature a Performance and Resolution mode as previously leaked via GameStop. This applies to the PS5, PS4 Pro, Xbox Series X/S versions of the game, with the Performance mode giving you the option of running the game at 60 FPS with the resolution being adjusted according.
The Resolution mode meanwhile will prioritise the highest resolution — 3840x2160p on Sony and Microsoft’s consoles — while placing the action at 30 FPS. “There are differences in the display of grass and other ground objects depending on the console.

For PS4 Pro, the resolution will clock in at 3200x1800p with checkerboarding, while the PS4 version will display at 1080p. Both versions of the game will run at 30 FPS.
Elden Ring is scheduled for release on February 25, 2022 for PS5, PS4, PC, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One.
