The wait is almost over! Bethesda has announced that Fallout 3, the latest entry in the critically acclaimed RPG series, has finally gone gold.
Releasing ten years after the last numbered Fallout title, Bethesda has some big shoes to fill. Fans of the series have been known to hold a very high standard for any game bearing the Fallout title, and rightfully so.
Since the dissipation of Black Isle Studios, the creators of the Fallout universe, there has yet to be a game bearing the name that could match its predecessors. A lot of fans remain skeptical as to whether or not Bethesda can satisfy their expectations, but with the Elder Scrolls series under their belt, it’s safe to assume that the franchise has fallen into capable hands.
For those of you that are unfamiliar with the game, imagine Washington D.C. 200 years after a nuclear war has ravaged the land. Fallout 3 allows you to create any kind of character you wish and expand on their skills and abilities as you fight to survive against mutants, ghouls, raiders, and other dangers on a journey to find your father.
The game is set to hit store shelves for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC on October 28 in the United States and October 31 in Europe and Asia.
