The respected leaker opted for a rather unorthodox method of highlighting the game’s release date (which, we don’t really need to remind you, is not official yet) by waxing poetry that contains some key clues. Final Fantasy 16 is seemingly referenced by mention of a crystal, which have appeared in every mainline entry in the series to date.https://twitter.com/insider_wtf/status/1598230925430894592?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1598230925430894592%7Ctwgr%5E43b7c8f758cb5edbe0bd105697e9a80432485c12%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Finsider-gaming.com%2Ffinal-fantasy-16-june-22%2F
Elsewhere, the 22 grains of said is very likely a reference to the 22nd and 6 nations as June, which equals June 22, 2023. In other words, Final Fantasy XVI is out on June 22 next year.
While nothing official has been announced yet, the date does match up with Square Enix’s confirmation of a Summer 2023 release window for the game.
Speaking of the game’s release date, Final Fantasy XVI Naoki Yoshida previously said that the game’s release date will hopefully be revealed by the end of the year. As reported yesterday, Yoshida-san will be offering a ‘special message’ as part of The Game Awards 2022 next week, so we could be getting the date then.
Final Fantasy XVI is currently in development for PS5 and PC, with a release set for Summer 2023.
