Square Enix’s Tetsuya Nomura has provided a brief update on Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2, revealing development of the project is progressing smoothly, although there’s still no word on a release date at this point.
Nomura-san also revealed that Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2 will feature a ‘different atmosphere’ from the first chapter in the project, and mentioned that ‘Cloud is running in the wilderness in the sequel,’ presumably referring to the fact players will be out and about in the world beyond Midgar.
As expected, the second part of the adventure will kick off right after the events of Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade.

That’s all Nomura would divulge on Part 2, but at least we know that there’s no problems on the development front, particularly in wake of the impact caused by the coronavirus outbreak.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade meanwhile is slated for a June 10, 2021 launch on PS5, and will be exclusive to the console for at least six months. You can check out the latest trailer for the game here, but be wary of spoilers.
