Naoki Hamaguchi has touched on the upcoming Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 during a panel at MCM London Comic Con over the weekend, stating the project is ‘going well’ despite not being able to provide a release date yet.
Speaking alongside the game’s cast, Hamaguchi-san, who is the director of the Final Fantasy VII Remake project, asked if rumours about the game’s cancellation were true. In response, he said, “That is absolutely not happening, it is going ahead. We’re working very hard on the third part of the trilogy now… and the whole team are working to create a buzz around the Final Fantasy Remake series.

He then added that Square Enix is working on “delivering that to you in the not too far future,” suggesting info on the highly anticipated trilogy conclusion will be dropping soon. Hamaguchi also said that he was literally going to head up to his hotel room after the chat and have a look at some of the levels in FFVII Remake Part 3.
You probably want to know when the third game is coming out. Unfortunately I can’t tell you that today, but rest assured it’s going well and we’re working very hard on it. As soon as this panel finishes I’m getting off stage, running straight to my hotel room and back to checking some of the levels in the game that we’ve already created.
Hamaguchi hasn’t been shy talking about Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 these past few weeks. Last week, he revealed during an interview that the third chapter in the series should ‘feel a bit more concise,’ and said that DLC or even ‘a full title’ could be possible once Part 3 has been released. Pleasingly, he also said that he’s confident that FFVII Remake Part 3 ‘will be loved by everyone,’ giving hope that we’re in for nothing less than a satisfying conclusion.
