Square Enix has confirmed that the Ultimate Collector’s Edition of Final Fantasy XV does not include the game’s Season Pass.
The news was confirmed during a Q&A at Gamescom this week, hosted by Game Director Hajime Tabata and Art Director Tomohiro Hasegawa (via GameSpot).
This may come as something of a surprise to those who have already forked out for the $270 Ultimate Collector’s Edition, which comes with a host of additional content, such as 26cm Noctis figurine and artbook.
The Final Fantasy XV Season Pass is however included in the Digital Deluxe Edition of the game, and features six extra DLC drops.
As previously reported, this particular version of the hotly anticipated JRPG has already sold out twice worldwide, and it doesn’t look like Square will be producing anymore at the time of writing.
Final Fantasy XV is scheduled for release on November 29, 2016 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The game was previously pencilled in for release on September 30, although was pushed back to allow for further polishing.
Square Enix originally announced the project as the PS3-exclusive Final Fantasy Versus XIII back in May 2006. However, following sporadic updates on the title over the next few years, it re-emerged at E3 2013 for current-generation machines as Final Fantasy XV.
According to the publishing giant, development on Final Fantasy XV as we know it today began around 2012, back when Versus XIII was around 25 percent complete.
