While an exact date for the preorders hasn’t been confirmed yet, it has been speculated that they will drop during The Game Awards 2022, which takes place on December 8, 2022.
As previously reported on PSU, a new PS5 ad from Sony seemingly offers confirmation that Final Fantasy XVI will be exclusive to Sony’s console for six months.
Final Fantasy XVI is currently in development for PS5 and PC, with a release date targeting Summer 2023. Producer Naoki Yoshida has revealed that the release date is expected to be announced by the end of the year, most likely when the preorders will go live.
Elsewhere, Final Fantasy XVI’s game director confirmed that there will be more than one playable character in the game, and that players are looking at about 35-40 hours to get through the JRPG, with a New Game+ also part of the package.
