Final Fantasy XV’s world of Eos looks beautiful in this new environmental video

Square Enix has released a new Final Fantasy XV video showcasing the hotly anticipated JRPG’s stunning environments.

Needless to say, the world of Eos is looking mighty impressive thanks in no small part to the Luminous engine, which is helping to make Final Fantasy XV one of the most jaw-dropping titles for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in terms of pure visual eye-candy.

Check it out below.

Final Fantasy XV is due out worldwide on September 30, 2016. The story follows Noctis, heir to the throne of Lucian, who is driven away from his homeland by the invading forces of Niflheim and is forced to survive out in the wilderness.

Noctis later teams up with a number of loyal companions as he plans to wrestle back control of Lucis from the clutches of Niflheim. The game takes the venerable franchise in a more action-oriented direction, and features a sprawling open-world for players to explore packed with side quests and other distractions.

Final Fantasy XV is noted for its arduous development cycle. The game was originally announced for the PlayStation 3 ten years ago as Final Fantasy Versus XIII, which would form part of the Nova Crystallis series of games.

However, little on the project was shown over the next few years, and Square Enix would later re-reveal the game as FFXV for current-generation consoles at E3 2013. It later revealed that the Versus XIII concept was scrapped around 2012 when the project was roughly 25 percent complete

Final Fantasy XV received a playable demo titled Episode Duscae with initial copies of Final Fantasy Type-0 HD on PS4 and Xbox One. Square Enix later released the all-new Platinum Demo earlier this year.
