Following Fortnite update 1.36 yesterday, which saw the servers down for quite a while, Epic Games has released the patch notes.
Sadly, they don't really tell us exactly what was changed after the bigger Fortnite update 2.2.0 (1.35), which added the new city map and introduced some important changes.
Fortnite update 1.36 patch notes
The Fortnite 1.36 patch notes state that the developer has “added game stability fixes and added minor bug fixes and game improvements.”
One thing that definitely hasn't been fixed is the Cosy Campfire Healing Item. This was introduced recently for Battle Royale, and allows players to heal, though it also attracts the attention of others! A Fortnite player discovered that by using the Cosy Campfire in the pre-game lobby, it triggers a bug that tricks the game into thinking that you've got full-shields when you haven't.
Consequently, it puts you at a big disadvantage at the start of the game as you can’t equip any shields. Watch the video of the Cosy Campfire glitch in action. Players are now requesting that Epic Games removes the ability to use such items from Fortnite's pre-game lobby.
“It seems that if you use the Cozy Campfire in the pre-match lobby the game thinks you have full shield and thus you can’t apply any shields in the subsequent match”, writes Padabite on Reddit. Another player says that it can also trigger a glitch where it “occupies a weapon slot”.
