Forza Horizon 6 Officially Announced For 2026 Release, Japan Setting Confirmed

Microsoft has officially announced in a post on Instagram that Forza Horizon 6 is launching in 2026 and will take place in Japan as previously reported.

The post (which now seems to have been removed) was sent live ahead of schedule, as Xbox’s Tokyo Game Show event is set to take place later today. This ties in with a previous report that claimed Forza Horizon 6 would be announced during the Tokyo Game Show this month. “The Horizon Festival is heading to Japan,” it reads. “Coming 2026. Wishlist now!”

Xbox head honcho Phil Spencer revealed back in June that a new Forza Horizon game would be released in 2026, so fans are probably not too surprised by the game’s official reveal. The Japan setting for Forza Horizon 6 was previously outed by an Instagram post from an Australia import car company, Cult & Classic, which was promptly deleted soon after.

Given Microsoft’s recent shift to bringing many of its major titles to PlayStation and Nintendo formats, there’s every reason to assume that this latest entry will come to PS5. After all, Forza Horizon 5 was released for Sony’s console back in April to great success.
