While GTA V has had plenty of DLC in the past two and a half years for its online side, there’s been much clamoring for something a little more substantial. So how does a return to Liberty City sound? Because it could well be happening
The portfolio of a current Rockstar artist has offered up an intriguing tidbit indeed, as it shows a very current-generation shot of Middle Park, GTA IV’s answer to Central Park.
The image was discovered by BlackScout and Spider-Vice, members of GTA Forums among the portofolio of a current Rockstar artist, and seems to be an in-engine shot of a very modern Liberty City. As shown by this comparison gif of the original and new screens.
The dream for Rockstar back before the launch of GTA V had been to make one big, inter-connecting world, so this could well point to the first signs of that becoming a reality. I’d say the addition of a whole new map would shift a fair few copies of GTA V, but it seems to be doing alright for itself, having been a fixture in the sales Top 10 ever since release in 2013.
Best to take this with a pinch of salt of course, as it could mean absolutely nothing for GTA V, as it could be from a scrapped project or just simply concept work, but the idea does get the juices flowing for me as GTA IV’s Liberty City remains my personal favourite location from the series.
