Grand Theft Auto V Sales Have Reached An Earth-Shattering 200 Million Units Worldwide

Take-Two has revealed during its latest earnings call that Grand Theft Auto V has sold 200 million units worldwide since its launch in September 2013.

Word comes from Geoff Keighley on Twitter following the publisher’s latest earnings call overnight, where it revealed that Grand Theft Auto VI will ship in Fall 2025. In addition, the company’s release slate through end of FY 2027 now features 12 fewer titles than before, and revealed that some cancellations have taken place. These titles were not part of its core franchises, however.

Grand Theft Auto V was originally released for the PS3 and Xbox 360 and was followed by the arrival of Grand Theft Auto Online in October 2013, which continues to this day and has received robust content support. In fact, it is widely believed that Rockstar Games scrapped its single-player DLC plans for GTA V in favour of updating GTA Online.

Steven Ogg, the actor for Trevor in GTA V, revealed that Rockstar had made a start on developing some DLC starring his character but ended up scrapping it.

Not content with having GTA V on one generation of consoles, Rockstar brought the critically acclaimed crime epic to PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
