GTA 5 voice actor ‘knows nothing’ about single-player DLC

The voice actor behind Grand Theft Auto V’s Michael De Santa has admitted he has no clue about the game’s long-rumored single-player DLC.

Writing on Facebook, Ned Luke commented, “EVERYBODY wants single player DLC… I know NOTHING about that. Don’t know when it’s gonna happen or even IF it’s gonna happen.

But I do know the boyz are gonna try to get out to some conventions this year so we can finally meet so many of our fans that we have been unable to meet in the past.

Luke’s comments come just one week after Franklin’s voice actor, Shawn Fonteno, posted a snap of him in mocap gear in Rockstar’s offices, sparking hope that the studio is working on the content it promised over two years ago. However, it has also been suggested that Fonteno’s picture was taken during the game’s initial development and wasn’t a recent photo.

Right now though it doesn’t look likely that we’ll see any single-player DLC for the critically acclaimed open-world title, as Rockstar has said it’s focus going forward will be on Grand Theft Auto Online. One of the most recent additions to the multiplayer component for GTA V is Lowriders, which featured the return of Lamar Davis.

Rockstar initially spoke about single-player DLC a few months after the game’s release, where it confirmed that the content would arrive at some point in 2014. That never materialised, and since then, it has distanced itself from talk of single-player DLC, though has never outright confirmed it is no longer on the cards.

GTA V was released for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in September 2013, and was later made available for current-generation systems a year later. GTA Online remains extremely popular, with Take-Two confirming last year that around eight million gamers still log in to the multiplayer experience every day.

GTA V has shipped a staggering 54 million units worldwide to date. Read our full review of the PS4 version of GTA V.
