Metal Gear mastermind Hideo Kojima has expressed his desire to see a remake of the original Metal Gear Solid featuring an open-world Shadow Moses Island.
Kojima-san was asked his thoughts on being able to play the older Metal Gear Solid titles on PlayStation 4, which prompted him to say he’d be unable to make this happen as he’s working on The Phantom Pain.
Nonetheless, the Kojima Productions boss still said it would be great to see Shadow Moses presented in sandbox-style, though noted no one has stepped forward to take on the task of remaking MGS.
Metal Gear Solid was released in 1998 for the PlayStation and was remade for the GameCube in 2003 as Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes.
