Developer IO Interactive has announced that Hitman 3 DLC is coming at some point down the line, although the studio was quick to taper expectations by saying it won’t be including any new locations in its post-launch slate.
That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be excited though, as Forest Swartout Large, the game’s executive producer, told TheGamer that the studio will be looking to ‘reimagine’ existing locations for its Hitman 3 post-launch content.
We are definitely going to be doing some DLC, but we haven’t defined what that is. I think for now we are not looking at new maps like the bank and the island.
We’re more looking at using existing locations and reimagining them, twisting them. And this time around, we can use the whole trilogy. We can look back at Hitman 2016 maps, Hitman 2 maps – we have all the locations.
To be honest, we’re not surprised that Hitman 3 DLC is on the horizon, as the game was a huge success for IO, having recouped its development costs in under one week. The studio is also working on Project 007, but that’s year away yet.
