Internet Wants PlayStation Writer Alanah Pearce Fired For Playing Starfield

Narrative Writer of Santa Monica Studios Alanah Pearce has been streaming and promoting recently released Xbox and PC exclusive title Starfield. Sadly, the internet has come together to remind us how pitiful certain corners of it can be, this time focusing their ire on the PlayStation writer and internet personality for playing the game and not committing to the PlayStation brand wholeheartedly.

In response to the hate, Alanah Pearce released a video addressing the matter, saying she never involves herself with these matters but this needed to be addressed. These PlayStation ‘fans’ feel Alanah should not be playing rivalling game developers’ titles as it shows a lack of professionalism and commitment, and Alanah should be fired because of that.

Alanah responded that it is common for game studios to play other games and discuss them as it’s an important part of collaboration and learning from the best games. She also added that at the time of recording, ten minutes prior she was talking to Creative Director Cory Barlog about Starfield.

They both had good things to share about their experiences with Bethesda Games Studios’ latest epic. She also suggested that if she messaged Herman Hulst, he would most likely be playing as well. You can check out her full video response below.

Alanah shares this has happened before with her experiences playing Tunic, an Xbox exclusive. People started tagging Phil Spencer and he was so sorry about the situation that he messaged Alanah personally to apologize – which of course he shouldn’t have to do since those ‘fans’, just really need to get a grip.

Though we can dream of a perfect world where people over the internet can stop harassing internet personalities over such matters, sadly that dream may not ever be realised. Let us know what you think about all this in the comments below.
