Is Destiny 2 pay to win? Microtransactions explained

destiny 2 microtransactions

Find out how Destiny 2 microtransactions work

Destiny 2 microtransactions are just as big a part of the sequel as they were in the original, with Silver once again returning to the fold to tempt you to part for your hard-earned cash.

Once again, the Eververse Trading Company is the place you’ll need to visit for purchasing goods, which is located at Destiny 2’s main social space, The Farm.

Eververse houses a brand new purchasable item known as the Bright Engram, which is only available to grab when you reach the Destiny 2 level cap, which is currently locked at 20. Bright Engrams are also earned by levelling post-20, or when reaching a new reputation level within your chosen faction.

So, what do you get for your money? Bright Engrams contain anything from cosmetic items (weapon ornaments), low-level armor, to emotes, sparrows, ships, shaders and other such goodies. If you bag yourself a duplicate item, then you can dismantle them for Bright Dust, which is used to purchase specific items.
